How to Incorporate Goji Berries Into Your Everyday Meals
In our most recent blog post, we explored the benefits of goji berries. Now, let's discover different ways to enjoy this delicious little berry. Though the berry tends to be more tart (and an acquired taste to some), you may be surprised at the many uses you can have for the goji.
Yogurt Bowl Topping
A smoothie or yogurt bowl is more complete with a little crunch. Adding goji berries to your beloved breakfast bowl will also add a tart taste without being too overpowering. Whether you are enjoying greek yogurt or a non-dairy option, the contrast of the sweet creamy yogurt with the dry crunch will satisfy any cravings.
Soaked Goji Berries
To emphasize a typical berry texture, soak your goji berries in water overnight. Be sure not to over-soak your goji berries, but cover them fully in water. Overnight, the berries will become plump and juicy. If a standard dried goji berry is too tart for you, soaked berries yield toned-down flavors.
Goji Syrup
After soaking your goji berries overnight, you will also see the liquid turn into a rich, pink-colored juice. Add this concentrate to a smoothie, over yogurt, or on top of peanut-butter toast for a nice contrast of flavors.
When buying goji berries, be sure to check the nutrition label to ensure that no added sugars or preservatives are added. Brands like Navitas and Sunfood are good options for a pure goji berry.
