Pumpkin spice and everything nice!
Sweater season is on its way, which means it's time to switch from summer to cute and cozy fall outfits. The weather is beginning to cool, and tree leaves are beginning to turn red, orange, yellow, and brown. It's also a perfect time to go hiking and shoot photos with autumnal captions. And if you're a classics fan like me, you'll understand why seeing movies like Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Harry Potter, and others during the time they're placed is so amazing. Apple cider, apple pie, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pie, and all things pumpkin and pleasant are now in season. We're here to (pumpkin) spice up your autumn with a healthy version of Pumpkin spice Latte that will channel your inner fall lover, but in a UBF-approved way.
We all enjoy Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts beverages, but they aren't necessarily the healthiest. It's surprising how a tall (Starbucks' smallest size) contains about 200-300 calories and a bunch of sugar in it. We can alter the components in our drink, but at the end of the day, we all know it's not worth it when you spend the same amount for a drink with less ingredients. We've got a solution for your hunger pangs. You'll gladly skip Starbucks and Dunkin' for this healthier version of pumpkin spice latte.
Ingredients:
- Unsweetened almond milk/ vanilla almond milk
- Vanilla extract
- Cinnamon powder
- Maple syrup/sweetener
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Brewed coffee
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Pumpkin puree/Pumpkin syrup
Combine almond milk and pumpkin puree/syrup in a cup or utensil. Cook for 45 seconds in the microwave or on medium heat. Remove the pan from the heat and add a dash of vanilla essence, pumpkin spice, and maple syrup/sweetener. To foam the milk, use the frother, which is highly vital and convenient to use. If you don't have a frother, a blender will suffice. Pour the brewed coffee into a large mug, then top with the foamy milk mixture, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Enjoy!
