New Year, New Goals
From all of us at Urban Body Fix, we wish you a happy new year. We're all gearing up to make a big splash in 2022. Most of us put off doing something until the beginning of the new year, and then we make a new year's resolution out of it. We may all have a New Year's resolution, something we want to accomplish this year, or a change we want to make in our lives for our own good. But making New Year's resolutions is difficult when a pandemic is raging and so many of the elements affecting our health and well-being are beyond our control. We can't change the circumstances, but we can take care of ourselves and the environment by practicing self-care. Another thing you may do is be gentle with yourself when making your 2022 resolutions. Remind yourself that while you can't stop the pandemic, you can take care of the body that has brought you this far. So, today UBF will present some healthy New Year's resolutions that you can put into practice for your daily well-being this year.
- Get more restful sleep: Sleep is an important aspect of general health, and not getting enough of it can have major effects. Sleep deprivation can lead to weight gain, heart disease, and depression. People don't get enough sleep for a variety of reasons, so focusing on your schedule and lifestyle to discover the best approaches to enhance sleep quantity and quality is critical.
- Find a sport that you enjoy doing: To begin, pick an activity that you will enjoy that fits into your schedule. Simple and lasting workout resolutions include going for a half-hour walk, jog, or bike ride before work, or swimming at a gym.
- Time spent in front of the screen should be limited: For work and enjoyment, many people rely on their phones and laptops. Too much time spent on electronic devices, especially social media, has been linked to sadness, anxiety, and loneliness. Making a resolution to spend less time looking through social media, watching TV, or playing computer games can help you feel better and be more productive.
- Increase your intake of whole foods: Eating more whole foods is one of the simplest and most long-lasting methods to improve overall health. Whole foods, such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and seafood, are high in nutrients that your body requires to function at its best.
- Make more 'me time' and self-care a priority: Taking care of yourself is not self-indulgent. In fact, it's critical for overall health and happiness. This is especially true for caregivers, such as parents and healthcare professionals. Self-care doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming to be effective. It may be as simple as having a bath once a week, going to your favorite weekly yoga class, cooking a healthy meal for yourself, taking a walk in the woods, or sleeping an extra hour.
- More meals should be prepared at home: Begin by preparing one meal each day, then gradually increase your frequency until you are preparing the majority of your meals and snacks at home.
- Increase your time spent outside: Spending more time outside can help you feel better by reducing stress, improving your mood, and possibly lowering your blood pressure. Spending more time outside every day as a New Year's resolution is a feasible and healthy aim that can benefit almost everyone.
We hope that these goals will assist you in making some 2022 New Year's resolutions and making positive improvements in your life this year. 😊
