Had a Little too Much Fun?
Urban Body Fix’s Guide To Stop Your Hangover In Its Tracks
We’ve all been there; and with July 4th just around the corner, it’s time to take some much-needed precautionary measures to beat the dehydration and morning spins.
Be aware of what you are drinking and how much
Whether you start drinking at 6 pm, 11 pm or even 10 am, take a look at which alcohol beverages you are drinking. In the middle of a hot summer day, you might want to stay away from the sugary alcoholic beverages, as sugar and alcohol combined can cause maximum dehydration. Pace yourself with the right drinks to ensure you aren’t overdoing it. Sometimes when mixing and cocktailing, we forget how much alcohol is actually being consumed.
WATER!
Though you are drinking liquids, alcohol is not quenching your hydration needs. Throughout the time of your alcohol consumption, it’s a great idea to slide in a couple glasses of water in between to ensure that your body isn’t working off of fumes.
Replenish your body with nutrients
If you participate in the occasional binge drinking sessions, or just like a casual drink a few times a week, it doesn’t hurt to add extra vitamins and supplements back into your body to help limit the negative impact drinking can have your body. Retox while you detox! You will especially want to incorporate an antioxidant to help with your liver functions. The liver is the prime organ that is affected by alcohol consumption.
Eat a full meal
When imbibing, ensure that your body can absorb the alcohol, which will slow down the effects. Well fed bodies may decrease those feelings of lightheadedness and nausea.
Stay accountable and listen to friends
You aren’t always your own best caregiver. Friends can help you stay accountable and aware of your drinking patterns. Your friends can help you to slow down and drink water when needed.
We want you to stay healthy. These simple tips should help you fight off the feelings of a hangover. The best way to protect your health is to stay aware and responsible while also having fun.
