Peppermint Tea May Alleviate Digestive Pains

Peppermint tea can help relieve digestive issues related to bloating, gas, and indigestion. A study of 72 participants with IBS, who consumed peppermint oil capsules, saw a 40% decrease in symptoms. Who doesn’t love a functioning gut?

Clean and Fresh Breath

You guessed it! Peppermint flavor leaves your breath feeling fresh. But peppermint isn’t just a great toothpaste flavor. It also has antibacterial properties that help kill germs within your mouth, which may improve the smell of your breath. Keep those pearly whites clean.

May Relieve Headaches

An active ingredient in peppermint is menthol. Menthol has been seen throughout studies to lessen the pain that headaches can cause. You can also apply peppermint oil to your temples to help relieve any tension.

May Help Calm Skin Irritation

In addition to alleviating headache symptoms, peppermint oil may be diluted and applied topically to treat skin irritations. You should test this method in small doses on your skin before applying everywhere.

With the cold weather comes the common cold. To help relieve sinus congestion, inhale peppermint to clear sinuses. You can apply a little peppermint oil right above your lip to start feeling the decongesting effects
