Welcome to Hogwarts Express: Recipes from Hogwarts

The Harry Potter movies are one of my favorite childhood memories and viewing them now brings back memories of watching them with my family during our movie nights, and then discussing the next film to be released. And I'm sure we've all tried spells like "Wingardium Leviosa" to make our books float in the air, or "Alohomora" to open doors we can't open, or "Lumos" for a small torch that is nowadays equal to the torch app on our phone. Even though I didn't have a sorting hat, my favorite part was choosing a house where we belonged, such as Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. Most of you are probably feeling nostalgic, therefore UBF wanted to share some Hogwarts-inspired recipes so you can enjoy a Wizarding movie night marathon with your friends/family and some delicious snacks during this festive season.

Marshmallow Butterbeer Latte (Non-alcoholic)

This butterbeer latte is perfect for the holidays, and all we need is to sip it while snuggled up in our cozy blanket. For ingredients we need 2tbs brown sugar, 2tbs unsalted butter, 2 cups of milk, 1tsp vanilla extract, ½ tsp cinnamon powder, nutmeg (according to your taste), 2tbs expresso or 1tbs instant coffee powder, whipped cream, and toasted marshmallow for topping. In a pan, melt the butter and sugar and stir constantly to prevent the sugar from burning. When it begins to bubble, add the milk, and whisk vigorously until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then add the espresso or instant coffee powder and stir well. Froth the latte using a milk frother or blender, then pour it into your glasses. Whipped cream and toasted marshmallows go on top.

Golden Snitch Cake Pops

We all remember how tough it was to capture the Golden Snitch during Quidditch, and I recall the match between Gryffindor and Slytherin in Chambers of Secrets, when Gryffindor won but Harry injured his hand, courtesy to Prof. Gilderoy Lockhart for making it worse. Our Golden Snitch, on the other hand, is simple to capture and even simpler to eat. You only need to prepare cake pops, which are simple to make and can be found anywhere, or you can buy readymade chocolate cake pops and coat them with yellow sugar melts before rolling them in golden sprinkles. Cut white fondant wings and insert them into the cake pops by cutting small slits and inserting the wings. Don't forget to bring some lollipop sticks, white fondant, cake mix along with eggs, oil, some frosting, gold sprinkles and yellow candy melts.

PolyJuice Potion Punch

This non-alcoholic potion punch with a witch theme is ideal for gatherings. The color of this elixir gives off goblin or ghoul vibes, as well as Slytherin vibes. Remember the time when Harry and Ron were transformed into Crabbe and Goyle, but Hermione was transformed into a Cat? Our PolyJuice potion does not contain any magic, but is still delicious. This is the easiest drink to create; all you need is some lime sherbet and some sprite. Combine the ingredients and tint with neon green food coloring. You may also top it with whipped cream to make it extra creamy.

Broomsticks

These cheesy pretzel broomsticks are the perfect party snack to serve with Poly juice. All you'll need are half-mozzarella cheese sticks, pretzel sticks, and chives. This dish is ideal for those who are new to cooking. To achieve a broom effect, cut the cheese sticks in half and make thin slices of cheese halfway down. Make a hole in the top of the cheese with a medium-large toothpick for the pretzel stick. Wrap a chive around the cheese and tie it in a knot. It's now ready to serve.

I hope these magical recipes add to the fun of your gathering/wizarding movie marathon. Please let us know which house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin) you belong to on our Instagram page @UrbanBodyFix.
