Grandma's Apple Pie
Apple pie is the epitome of a chilly autumn weekend. Whether you are practicing your pie-making skills for Thanksgiving or just want to enjoy a flavorful apple pie slice, you've come to the right place. The key to make delicious apple pie is Granny Smith apples. Granny Smith apples cook down perfectly and give you a tart flavor without being overly sweet. Follow this recipe to spice up your desserts.
Apple Cider
Push aside the store-bought apple cider. You will be a pro after you make this homemade apple cider. Once you have returned from your apple picking, be sure to wash your apples and then begin your cider process. Combine your apples, spices, water and sweetener in a large pot and bring to a boil. After your mixture is boiled, reduce to a simmer and let sit for at least 2 hours. Stab your apples with a fork. If the apples appear to be soft, you have completed your cider mission. Once the cider has cooled to a drinkable temperature, it is time to enjoy it.
Apple cobbler can be described as the cousin to the beloved apple pie. Apple cobbler will satisfy your cake cravings, and will give you that fall-themed flavor. Be sure to wash and peel your apples before starting to cook. This will ensure that you won't get any huge chinks of apple skin, and each bite will be smooth. Apple cobbler is best served with a cool scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Baked Apple Cider Doughnuts
You read it correctly, homemade baked apple cider doughnuts...What more can we want? The key to this recipe is a reduced apple cider. If you have extra apple cider from the recipe earlier, this is where it can be put to use. Ensure to reduce the cider down to a thick syrup-like texture. Follow this recipe and enjoy the cinnamon sugar goodness.
Apple Chips
This recipe will be the easiest of the bunch. These chips will be best coming from an air fryer. Cut your apples into thin slices. Dress with various spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, whatever you are feeling. Combine ingredients in a bowl with the apple slices and ensure that they are fully coated. Next, pop them in the air fryer for about 12 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don't have an air fryer, don't fret. You can bake your apples in the oven for about 15 minutes at 400 degrees F, flipping the slices about halfway through. Enjoy!
